Fabio Campagnolo wins EY Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Fashion and Design category

Who is Fabio Campagnolo, CEO of Veneto-based F.lli Campagnolo S.p.A.
Fabio Campagnolo, born in Bassano del Grappa in 1968, was raised in the ambiance of a family-owned business. Graduating in Business Administration from Milan's Bocconi University in 1992, he delved into his passion for family enterprises, crafting his thesis on the subject. Post-graduation, he swiftly integrated into the family enterprise alongside his father, Giorgio. Together, they revolutionized F.lli Campagnolo, transitioning it from a production-centric entity to one dedicated to nurturing its brands: CMP (sportswear), Melby, and Nucleo (children's clothing), Maryplaid, and FC F.lli Campagnolo.
Today, as CEO, Fabio Campagnolo spearheads F.lli Campagnolo, steering it to unparalleled success. Collaborating with his sisters Michela and Maria Pia, he guides a conglomerate encompassing over 50 company-owned outlets, with a collective turnover surpassing €193 million (as of 2021).
Teamwork
"This award stands as a poignant acknowledgment of the collective efforts of numerous individuals. The success of this company today is a testament to the entrepreneurial acumen of my parents, whose unwavering dedication has been pivotal in fostering the growth and prosperity of F.lli Campagnolo. Equally essential is the commitment and passion demonstrated by our employees.
I take immense pride in the fact that, alongside my sisters and my wife, we, as the third generation, have continued to propel the company forward. Our contributions, infused with fresh ideas, professionalism, and a fervent drive for innovation, have been instrumental in shaping its trajectory.
As we navigate the path ahead, we are prepared to confront significant challenges with humility and perseverance. Unified and guided by the principles established by our predecessors, we are poised to embrace these challenges, steadfast in our resolve to uphold the legacy of excellence."
The 2022 results: record sales
The forecasts for 2022 are exceptionally promising, with the group anticipating a turnover exceeding 260 million euros by year-end. This remarkable achievement is attributed to a robust business strategy characterized by the comprehensive development of all brands, a steadfast commitment to sustainability – exemplified by the company's founding membership in Cobat Tessile, a consortium dedicated to garment recycling – an ambitious initiative to establish single-brand stores across Italy, Germany, and France, and a resilient production infrastructure that has remained largely unaffected by the challenges posed by the pandemic. With five owned production sites strategically located in Italy, Romania, and Tunisia, the company has been able to maintain its production capabilities amidst the pandemic-induced disruptions that have impacted other businesses.
Moving towards new frontiers
Fabio Campagnolo affirms their commitment to expanding into new markets, notably targeting the U.S. and China. However, they remain attentive to the domestic market, which rewards them for their continuous product range expansion, catering to evolving and specific needs while upholding their hallmark quality-price ratio.
