CAI Veneto National Hiking Week and National Adapted Hiking Gathering

September 11, 2024

From September 11th to 15th, mountain and nature enthusiasts will have an unmissable appointment: the 25th National Hiking Week, accompanied by the 4th National Gathering of Adapted Hiking. This annual event, organized by C.A.I. Veneto, represents a moment of enrichment, learning, and socializing for all hiking lovers.

The operational base: Auronzo di Cadore

This year, the event will have its operational base in Auronzo di Cadore, a picturesque town located in the upper Belluno area. Specifically, activities will take place at La Gregoriana, in Palus San Marco, a charming spot surrounded by nature, about 8 km from the center of Auronzo. The location is easily accessible by both car and public transport, making it convenient for all participants.

A rich and diverse programme

The event features five days of hikes suitable for all ages and skill levels. Activities range from free and guided hikes to cycling tours of varying difficulty, ensuring a complete and engaging experience for every participant.

In addition to the excursions, there will be conferences and cultural activities aimed at raising awareness, offering opportunities to deepen knowledge about the local territory, wildlife, and flora, as well as safe and sustainable hiking techniques and practices. These moments of meeting and exchange are designed to enrich the participants' experience, creating opportunities for sharing and personal growth.

4th National Adapted Hiking Gathering "Ruota Libera"

One of the most important initiatives of this week is the 4th National Adapted Hiking Gathering, called "Ruota Libera." This gathering represents a moment of inclusion and promotes accessible hiking for people with disabilities, demonstrating how the mountains can be an open and enjoyable environment for everyone, regardless of their physical abilities. The activities planned during the gathering have been designed to be accessible and safe, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature in an inclusive and sustainable way.

An event that can't be missed

The 25th National Hiking Week and the 4th National Adapted Hiking Gathering offer a unique opportunity to experience the mountains in an authentic and shared way, fostering a spirit of community and respect for the environment. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Belluno Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site, this event becomes even more special, offering stunning landscapes and trails that will thrill and enrich all participants.
All that’s left is to pack your bags and head to Auronzo di Cadore to enjoy five days filled with pure mountain passion, hiking adventures, meaningful encounters, and new friendships.
