Layering System

LAYERING SYSTEM

When you are on the move outdoors, a layered system is the most effective for guaranteeing the ideal solution whatever the situation, depending on the activity and weather conditions. Layering technical clothes is not difficult because the decision becomes instinctive. When you get hot, it is time to remove a layer and when it is cold, you add one. The CMP Layering System, combining Base, Mid and Outer Layers, ensures breathability, warmth and protection from the wind and water. Your body temperature thus remains constant and your wellbeing is ensured no matter what the weather conditions, allowing you to excel in your outdoor sport.

1. BASE LAYER

This is the layer that is in direct contact with the skin. It must regulate your body temperature during the physical activity, whilst guaranteeing breathability and warmth. CMP Layering System includes different Base Layers depending on your preferences and when they are worn: Seamless, a garment with a highly technical yarn and no seams; Merino with all the characteristics of fine Merino wool or Warm, 100% soft and warm polyester.

2. MID LAYER

Worn over the base layer, the figure-hugging mid layer retains warmth and keeps body temperature constant.
It acts as insulation by using a fleece, padded jacket or combination of two garments, the weight of which is based on the weather conditions and the chosen activity.
For its Mid Layers, CMP offers a wide range of fleeces, such as Knit Tech and Stretch Performance, in addition to proprietary padding technology and Primaloft and 3M Thinsulate.

3. OUTER LAYER

The outermost layer is the first crucial level of protection and acts as veritable shield against the weather conditions. All the CMP shells are based on ClimaProtect® technology, a special membrane which protects from water and wind whilst ensuring excellent breathability. Lastly, to guarantee extra warmth, some of the garments are also padded while others can be zipped together to add an extra inner layer.
